Église Saint-François-de-Sales de Lyon, Catholic church in 2nd arrondissement, Lyon, France
The church exhibits neoclassical architecture with a central nave, side chapels, and a dome adorned with botanical and avian decorative patterns.
The current structure, built from 1803 to 1847 under architect Claude-Anthelme Benoit, replaced the smaller Sainte Madeleine church that served as a prison during French Revolution.
The interior features decorative wall paintings by Alexandre Denuelle, biblical panels by Louis Janmot, and a sculpture of the Assumption by Joseph-Hugues Fabisch.
The church maintains regular Mass services throughout the week, with schedules published for both morning and evening worship sessions.
The Cavaillé-Coll organ, installed in 1880 and designated as a Historical Monument in 1977, remains a centerpiece of the church's musical heritage.
