Église Saint-Germain d'Andrésy

The Saint-Germain Church displays Gothic architecture with a central nave flanked by unequal side aisles, ribbed vaults, and large pointed arch windows that illuminate the interior with natural light filtering through ancient stained glass windows.

Built primarily between the late 12th and early 13th centuries, the church underwent major modifications during the 16th century under François I, including the reconstruction of the south side aisle and the addition of a wider north collateral in Renaissance style.

Classified as a historical monument in 1949, this Catholic church houses several protected religious artifacts including a statue of Saint Vincent, a retable with Saint Hilaire de Poitiers painting, and various sculptures representing saints and the Virgin with Child.

Located at 14 boulevard Noël Marc in Andrésy, the church remains active for Sunday masses and religious ceremonies, though visitors should verify opening hours as restoration work and liturgical activities may affect accessibility.

The church once housed four bells including the famous Germaine bell weighing 1,670 kilos, cast in 1864 from the original 1605 bell and coins, bearing inscriptions referencing Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie.
