Zénith Sud, multi-purpose event hall in Montpellier, France

Zénith Sud is a large multi-purpose venue in Montpellier designed for concerts, performances, and events. The hall accommodates up to 6,300 visitors and features flexible spaces that can be adapted for different types of gatherings, from music shows to exhibitions and corporate functions.

Zénith Sud opened in 1986, designed by the architectural team Chaix & Morel et Associés who also worked on the famous Paris Zénith. Since its opening, the venue has hosted many renowned performers and has become an established fixture in Montpellier's entertainment landscape.

The name Zénith is a French label for large performance halls, and Zénith Sud was the first such hall built outside Paris. Its metal canvas was replaced by a yellow one in 2000, and architect Claude Marre's 2001 renovation was intended to highlight Mediterranean culture. In 2018 the hall hosted season 5 of the classical music TV show Prodiges.

Zénith Sud is located in the Grammont area and easily accessible, with a large parking lot accommodating 2,000 vehicles including spaces for visitors with disabilities. The venue is also well served by public transportation and sits about 10 minutes from Montpellier's train station and airport.

The metal canvas covering the hall was grey when it opened in 1986; it was replaced by a yellow one during the 2000 renovation. The architect Claude Marre then reworked the building in 2001 to highlight Mediterranean culture. The hall holds 6,300 spectators on 5,000 m².
