Patinoire Végapolis is an ice rink in Montpellier with two separate skating surfaces for different purposes and skill levels. The facility features modern amenities and is designed to accommodate both serious training and casual recreational use.
The facility opened in 2000 as part of Montpellier's plan to expand its sports infrastructure. It brought winter sports opportunities to this southern French city for the first time.
The rink hosts the Montpellier Agglomération patinage figure skating club and the Montpellier Agglomération Hockey Club, which train on the 1,800 m² Olympic track. The 1,300 m² leisure track, with its slopes, lit tunnel and themed areas, is where families skate. The venue opened in December 2000 in the Odysseum district.
The site is easily accessible in the Odysseum district with good public transport connections. The rink offers skate rentals and lessons for all levels, so both beginners and experienced skaters can use the facility comfortably.
The rink replaced Montpellier's previous ice rink, which stood in the Vert-Bois district in the north of the city, in front of the entrance to the Lunaret zoo. The Végapolis site opened in December 2000 in the Odysseum district.
