Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges de Royan

Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges is a church in Royan featuring limestone sculptures, geometric stained glass windows, and an Art Deco altar. A tiled central aisle runs through the nave and guides the eye toward the altar zone.

Architect Eustase Rullier oversaw construction from 1891 to 1903, using Gothic Revival elements throughout the design. After World War II, sections of the interior underwent renovation and received new geometric patterns.

Artist Leon Millet painted decorative works in 1897 with timber frame patterns reminiscent of medieval castle design. These handcrafted details shape the interior and show the artistic care of that era.

The church sits on Avenue de Paris in Royan and is easily reached from the city center. Fruitwood chairs arranged in rows provide comfortable seating throughout the interior space.

The building preserves original stained glass windows created by Limoges master craftsman Chigot, known for his technical skill. These windows survived wartime damage and show the quality of early glasswork.
