Île Illiec, Private island in Penvénan, Brittany, France.
Île Illiec spans approximately six hectares with an elongated north-south orientation and features partial forest coverage alongside rocky coastal formations that characterize the Brittany archipelago.
The island was purchased around 1860 by Prix de Rome composer Ambroise Thomas who constructed the main residence, before being sold in 1938 to aviator Charles Lindbergh.
Known as Enez Ilieg in Breton, the island reflects regional maritime toponymy with surrounding rock formations bearing traditional names like Roc'h ar Wrac'h and Enez Siliek.
Access to Île Illiec requires prior arrangements as it remains exclusively private property under the current ownership of the Heidsieck family who also own nearby islands.
The island served as a private retreat for Charles Lindbergh after his historic 1927 transatlantic flight, providing him refuge from media attention following personal tragedies.
