Château de Cabrerets, Medieval castle in Cabrerets, France.

The Château de Cabrerets stands in the Célé Valley, built against a limestone cliff at 130 meters elevation in the Lot department.

The first castle documented in 1259 was occupied by English forces in 1380 during the Hundred Years War before its liberation by Jean d'Hébrard.

This 16th-century seigniorial residence displays architectural elements typical of French Renaissance castles in the Occitanie region.

The historical monument, classified in 1996, opens to visitors during tourist season with guides explaining its architecture and history.

The castle overlooks the confluence of the Sagne and Célé rivers, near the Pech Merle cave containing prehistoric paintings.
