Musée Gassendi

Musée Gassendi occupies a former hospital building and displays paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries alongside contemporary art. The spaces spread across multiple floors connected by stairs and an elevator, allowing visitors to access all areas freely.

The Scientific Society of Basses-Alpes founded the museum in 1889, and it moved to its current building in 1909. This move to the former hospital became a turning point for the institution and its mission to preserve local art and natural sciences.
