Fontenoy pyramid

The Fontenoy Pyramid is a triangular obelisk made of blue stone, rising 17 meters (56 feet) high with a lily flower crowning its peak. It sits in Cysoing and serves as a classified historical monument.

Built in 1750, it commemorates King Louis XV's visit to Cysoing Abbey before France achieved victory at the Battle of Fontenoy. The structure marks a significant military triumph of that era.

The structure expresses French military achievement through its design, with bronze dolphins positioned at the base and royal emblems of France displayed on the exterior.

The monument sits at a marked location in Cysoing and can be reached by walking from the town center along indicated paths. Clear signage helps visitors find their way and explore the surroundings.
