Puig de Cervera, Mountain summit between Portbou and Cerbère, Spain and France
Puig de Cervera is a mountain summit on the border between Spain and France, rising approximately 207 meters above sea level. Its slopes feature geological formations of greywacke, sandstone, and siltstone distributed across naturally formed terrain.
The mountain contains a German observation post from past conflicts, showing military presence in this border area. These remnants show the strategic importance of the location during that period.
The summit marks a natural boundary between Spanish Portbou and French Cerbère, linking two distinct communities. Hiking remains an important activity for people living on both sides of the border.
A trail of about 2.3 kilometers leads to the summit from parking areas near the N-260 in Spain and the D914 in France. The route can be accessed from either side of the border.
The mountain is part of the FEEC100 list and offers hikers the rare chance to see both coastal territories from one location. This view brings together Spanish and French Mediterranean areas at the same time.
