Rateau d'Aussois

Rateau d'Aussois is a mountain summit in the southern Vanoise massif reaching 3131 meters, positioned between Lake Plan d'Aval and the Orgère valley. The peak offers hiking routes that pass through varied alpine terrain at different elevations.

The Orgère valley beside the summit was historically home to families who grew barley and raised livestock during summer months across multiple generations. This seasonal farming tradition shaped life in the region for centuries.
