Musée des Transports de Pithiviers

The Transport Museum of Pithiviers operates an 8-kilometer narrow-gauge railway line that connects different stations through the French countryside.

The museum opened in 1966 following the closure of the Pithiviers-Toury Tramway, preserving the industrial heritage of the 60-centimeter gauge railway network.

The museum collection features vintage locomotives, passenger cars, and freight wagons that represent different French secondary railway networks and colonial territories.

Located 80 kilometers south of Paris, the museum welcomes visitors from April to December, with trains running primarily on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during July and August.

Four operational steam locomotives power the heritage trains, with additional engines from England and Germany joining during special events throughout the year.
