The Manufacture des Tabacs occupies 21,500 square meters in central Strasbourg, featuring a central courtyard and multiple wings dedicated to educational facilities.

Built between 1849 and 1852 by architect Eugene Rolland, this tobacco factory produced half of France's cigars until its industrial operations ceased in 2008.

Following its designation as a historical monument in 2016, the building transformed into an educational hub housing geoscience institutes and art schools.

Located at 7 rue de la Krutenau, the complex includes a youth hostel with 264 beds and a restaurant open to visitors throughout the year.

The building houses both the National School of Water and Environmental Engineering and the School of Earth Sciences, creating connections between different disciplines.
