Fabrica, Creative arts center in Avignon, France
La FabricA is a creative center in Avignon with a performance hall sized to match the Court of Honor stage. The building provides eighteen residential spaces where artists live while working on their projects.
La FabricA was created to support the Festival d'Avignon with artistic work throughout the year, not just during the festival weeks. This strengthened Avignon's position as a major creative hub beyond its summer festival.
The center serves as a working laboratory where artists develop productions and present them to audiences who live nearby. This interaction between resident creators and local visitors shapes how the space functions day by day.
The space is fully accessible and located on Rue Paul Achard in the city. Visitors will find hearing loops for people with hearing loss and adapted seating throughout the building.
During the Festival d'Avignon in July, the space transforms into a theater with seating for around 600 people for large technical productions. This dual function allows it to adapt to changing needs of the artists who use it.
