Viaduc du Blanc

Viaduc du Blanc is a railway bridge spanning about 500 meters across the Creuse River, supported by roughly 20 stone arches beneath it. The structure rises about 38 meters above the water surface and showcases skilled stone construction with its characteristic arched supports.

The structure was designed and built in the 1880s as part of the railway line to Le Blanc. Engineers of that period used advanced techniques to span the river at this height and establish connections between surrounding settlements.

The viaduct stands as a testament to 19th-century French engineering and connects the communities of Saint-Benoit and Le Blanc through its historic structure. Today, visitors experience it as a landmark that shapes the regional landscape and represents a period when railway construction transformed the countryside.
