Château de Kerduel

Château de Kerduel is a castle in Pleumeur-Bodou situated within a forested landscape near a small stream and lake. The structure displays architectural elements from multiple centuries and includes a chapel dedicated to Saint Anne.

The castle began as a fortified structure in the 12th century with walls and moats. Subsequent expansions during the 14th and 19th centuries reshaped the buildings over time.

The name references Carduel, King Arthur's palace from British legend, linking it to Arthurian traditions in medieval French storytelling. This legendary connection remains part of how locals understand the place's identity.

Visitors can view the exterior from the access road, with external visits possible between Easter and mid-September during daylight hours. Since it remains a private property, stay on public paths and respect the boundaries.

Both the castle and its chapel have been listed as historical monuments since 1978, underlining their architectural and cultural importance. This dual recognition makes them a notable example of heritage preservation in the region.
