The building, constructed after the fire of 1426, formed part of the external defense system at the western gate of La Chaise-Dieu's walls.
The 18th-century interior decorations combine Parisian and regional influences, with fireplaces and French-style ceilings typical of Auvergne craftsmanship.
Located on Rue des Fossés, this private property remains closed to visitors but can be viewed from the street.
The northwest facade maintains its original elements, while Gothic windows were added during the 19th and 20th centuries.
