Maison de Maurice Ravel

The Maison de Maurice Ravel is a residential building in Ciboure featuring a rectangular facade topped with a curved gable and a round decorative window. Inside, the third floor retains its original paneled living room and alcove overlooking the quay below.

The building was constructed in 1630 by a merchant and shipowner who drew inspiration from Dutch architectural designs encountered during his travels. It later served as a residence for a notable church official visiting the region in 1660.

The building carries the name of the composer born here and represents an important chapter in the town's identity. Locals and visitors recognize it as a symbol of cultural pride linked to music and artistic achievement.
