The natural limestone cave system extends over 1,000 meters with chambers, underground lakes, and geological formations shaped through water erosion.
In 1179, the caves witnessed the death of 300 Waldensians, members of a Christian movement who translated the Bible into common language.
The cave system belongs to the Seven Wonders of Dauphiné and received a visit from King François I during his journey to Italy in 1548.
The cave maintains temperatures between 13 and 15 degrees Celsius throughout the year, with guided tours lasting approximately 75 minutes.
The cave network contains a mysterious underground lake and provides shelter to multiple bat species monitored through infrared cameras.
