Pointe Carpiniccia

Pointe Carpiniccia is a 991-meter summit in Corsica featuring natural rock formations and native Mediterranean vegetation along its slopes and ridges. The terrain displays varying elevations with diverse plant species and dramatic stone structures.

The mountain was shaped by tectonic forces over millions of years, forming the geological foundation of the Mediterranean region. These same processes created the diverse landscape of Corsica as it exists today.

Shepherds tend their flocks on these slopes following methods that have been passed down through Corsican families for generations. This traditional pastoral life shapes the landscape and daily rhythm around the mountain.

Marked trails start from a nearby parking area and lead to the summit with an ascent of approximately three hours. It is best to wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water for the hike.

On clear days, the summit offers views of both the Mediterranean Sea and the interior mountain ranges of Corsica in one sweeping view. This vantage point reveals the island's complete geographic diversity from a single location.
