The D344 road winds through dramatic gorges where green serpentine rock walls rise on each side of the mountainous path.

The waters of Fium'Orbu river have shaped these gorges over thousands of years, creating two distinct passages: Inzecca and Strette defiles.

This mountain route demonstrates Corsican engineering expertise in constructing a passage through this geologically complex zone.

The natural site, accessible year-round, requires careful driving along 13 kilometers of narrow road with limited parking areas.

The defile hosts Rotges' buckler-mustard, an endemic plant species that grows exclusively in this particular region of Corsica.
