Pointe de Quarcio Grosso

Pointe de Quarcio Grosso is a mountain in Corsica that rises to 867 meters and displays a mix of rocky outcrops alongside Mediterranean plant growth. The terrain alternates between exposed stone areas and denser vegetation zones that shift in color across different seasons.

During the 18th century, local shepherds established numerous paths across this mountain to reach higher grazing grounds. These routes were maintained and used across generations, and they still influence the trail system that exists today.

The mountain served as a crucial grazing route for shepherds who moved their flocks seasonally across these heights. The paths and stone structures they left behind still shape how people experience the landscape today.

Hikers can reach the summit using marked trails that begin from the D81 road, with difficulty varying depending on the chosen route. Proper footwear, sufficient water, and either a map or GPS device are essential since weather can change quickly on exposed slopes.

On clear days, both the Mediterranean Sea and Corsica's inner mountain ranges are visible from the top in a single view. This far-reaching view is especially striking during morning or evening hours when light conditions highlight the details of distant ridges.
