Colline de Pimayon

Colline de Pimayon is a summit in the Luberon range near Manosque with a peak at 726 meters. The slopes are moderate and crossed by trails that wind through open mountain terrain.

The area around this summit was once active with mining, as shown by the old Gaude mines at its base where coal was extracted. These workings shaped the region's economy for many years.

The path to the summit carries the name of Louis Denis de Valvérane, a local figure from Manosque whose life left an imprint on the region. The naming choice shows how the landscape here holds memories of people who mattered to the community.

The hike follows clearly marked trails that are easy to navigate without getting lost. Starting early in the day gives you plenty of daylight to enjoy the full route and explore the surroundings.

From the top, you can spot the Géométhane facility, an underground natural gas storage installation tucked into the mountain landscape. This modern infrastructure operates quietly in the countryside without dominating the views.
