Pic de la Corne, Summit in Chablais massif, France
Pic de la Corne is a summit in the Chablais massif reaching 2084 meters above sea level. The mountain rises prominently from its base and offers changing views across the surrounding peaks and valleys as you ascend.
Paths to this peak were created by shepherds who moved their flocks to high meadows during summer months. These traditional herding routes became the foundation for modern hiking trails.
Pic de la Corne functions as a natural landmark for regional inhabitants, marking natural boundaries between different municipalities within the Chablais massif.
The climb is moderately demanding and takes about three hours from the Prétairié parking area near Abondance village. Good hiking boots and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended since conditions at altitude can shift quickly.
From the summit, Lake Geneva and Dents du Midi spread out below you in the distance. The route shares portions with paths to Roc and Lac de Tavaneuse, letting hikers blend different trails into a single outing.
