Église de l'Assomption-de-Notre-Dame de Pont-l'Évêque, Gothic church in Pont-l'Évêque, France

The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady in Pont-l'Evêque is a church building featuring a broken barrel vault nave supported by circular pillars and lit by round windows. Inside are colored stained glass windows from 2008, a 16th-century Christ figure, and side altars decorated with Art Deco mosaics.

The structure was rebuilt after a previous church was destroyed in 1918 during World War I combat. The reconstruction followed the same foundation layout and proportions as the original building that stood on this site.

The side aisles display Art Deco details in their mosaic decorations, reflecting how the church absorbed modern artistic trends during its reconstruction period. Visitors walking through notice how this 20th-century design style influenced the choice of furnishings and decorative elements throughout the space.

The church features side aisles with small transverse barrel vaults that guide movement through the interior and provide quieter spaces to explore. Access throughout the building is straightforward, allowing visitors to view the full range of architectural and decorative elements at their own pace.

The exterior features triple gabled roofs over the side aisles, creating a distinctive silhouette that sets this church apart visually. This roof design is less commonly seen in churches of this era and gives the building a recognizable character from the street.
