Château Saint-Jean, Château in Dorlisheim, France

Château Saint-Jean is a large symmetrical manor house built in 1857, with a pale cream facade, tan stone trim and a grey slate mansard roof topped by a decorative metal ridge and two tall chimneys. Its central section rises into a curved stone pediment with relief carving above a round-arched entrance and a balcony with black iron railings. Twelve tall rectangular windows with light stone surrounds line each of the two storeys, and a wide stone staircase leads to the door.

The manor was built in 1857 by the Wangen de Geroldseck family on the site of a 13th-century commandery of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. In 1928 Ettore Bugatti bought it together with its 6-hectare park, and the château then hosted presentations of luxury cars and receptions for clients. In 2001 it became the headquarters of Bugatti Automobiles SAS.

The château maintains its role as the headquarters of Bugatti Automobiles, hosting exclusive car presentations and international client receptions.

You can view the exterior architecture and period gateway from the outside, as the interior operates as private offices and is not open to visitors. The surrounding park allows for walking around the grounds, with wooded areas providing shelter and a natural setting to explore.

The two hunting pavilions on the estate date from 1766 and 1853, predating the 1857 manor house itself. The château has served as the headquarters of Bugatti Automobiles SAS since 2001, and the company receives clients and prospective buyers there, as it did in Ettore Bugatti's day.
