Casino d'Ax-les-Thermes is a broad 1911 building on the Promenade Paul Salette, with large terraces on its south and north sides. A central hall leads to a café and gaming rooms in the west wing and a theatre in the east wing. Two towers with viewing platforms rise above the structure.
The casino was completed in 1911 on Promenade Paul Salette, after several casino projects had failed since 1895. In 1907 the theatre hall and gaming rooms opened in the unfinished building, and in 1908 the town commissioned Toulouse architect Pierre Mouré to finish it. Major repairs were carried out as early as 1925.
The casino's 1907 opening of its theatre hall and gaming rooms came before the building was finished; the municipality then entrusted Toulouse architect Pierre Mouré with completion in 1908, and work ended in 1911. From 1928 the concessionaire CIFFIC had to build a larger terrace, enlarging the shops beneath it, and the central open staircase was also enlarged.

The two towers with viewing platforms were altered in the 1950s, and the building underwent extensive renovation in the 2000s. The 1928 concession to CIFFIC obliged the operator to add a larger terrace, enlarging the shops beneath it and the central open-air stairway.
