Grands Montets, Mountain ski resort in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France
Grands Montets is a ski resort in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc that spans from 1,252 to 3,275 meters in elevation and offers slopes for all skill levels. The terrain includes wide runs as well as specialized glacier sections.
The resort opened in 1964 and developed into the region's main high-altitude skiing area. Following a 2018 fire, it underwent comprehensive modernization.
The resort draws skiers from across the world who come for the combination of high-altitude skiing and alpine tradition. The upper stations serve as social hubs where visitors gather and exchange experiences between runs.
The area is accessible from the mountain town of Argentière and has several modern lifts including two gondolas. The upper sections can be windy, so visitors should bring warm clothing and sun protection.
The north-facing slopes receive continuous snowfall throughout the season, creating consistently good conditions. This geographic location has made the resort a reliable destination for early and late-season visitors.
