Château d'Aiserey

Château d'Aiserey features a central pavilion with two double-story wings surrounded by partially filled moats in the Burgundy countryside. The structure blends preserved 18th-century elements with 19th-century reconstructions, including bas-relief decorations on the north facade and remnants of a central tower wall.

Construction began in 1732 under Hector Bernard Pouffier, dean of the Burgundy Parliament and founder of the Dijon Academy. The estate subsequently underwent major transformations that shaped its current appearance as a structure spanning multiple architectural periods.

A glass and stained glass workshop operated by master craftsman Pierre-Alain Parot occupies restored outbuildings on the property. The working studio shows how traditional glass arts are practiced within the castle grounds today.

Visitors should note the varying states of preservation across different sections, as restorations have occurred in stages over time. It helps to observe the distinct architectural styles of different parts and pay attention to the outbuildings where the active workshop is located.

The southwest courtyard preserves original stables that reveal the estate's long connection to farming and equestrian pursuits. These working spaces demonstrate how the property was once organized as a functioning rural holding.
