The Château de Nervers is a wine estate in the Beaujolais region that sits within approximately 45 hectares of vineyards. Visitors can taste red and rosé wines produced here from Gamay grapes.
The château was built in 1780 as a hunting lodge and gradually transformed into a wine producer over the following centuries. It is now managed by Jean-Benoît and Tiphaine de Chabannes.
The estate hosts a sound and light show called Le Serment du Vigneron, where about 200 volunteers perform scenes depicting regional winemaking practices and traditions. This event brings visitors into contact with how locals have worked the land and crafted wine over generations.
Wine tastings and tours of the estate should be arranged in advance so you can join a scheduled group. The wines produced here are available to purchase on-site in a range of prices depending on the selection.
The location benefits from distinct weather conditions locally known as the Nervers Climate, shaped by strong winds in a large valley north of Lyon. These natural factors significantly shape how the grapes develop.
