The parc de la Bégraisière is an urban park in Saint-Herblain, west of Nantes, sitting between the ring road to the west and the Chézine valley to the northeast. It mixes open lawns with paved paths, a small pond, a natural green amphitheater, play areas for children, and wilder wooded sections deeper into the grounds.
The site was once part of a private estate before it was opened to the public as a park. Over time, new features were added, including play areas and the teaching garden, as the town of Saint-Herblain grew around it.
The park has a jardin pédagogique, a teaching garden where school groups come to learn about plants and nature firsthand. Just next to it stands the Longère de la Bégraisière, an old farm building now used for local educational programs.
The main entrances are on the esplanade de la Bégraisière and the rue François-Rabelais, and the park is easy to reach on foot or by bike from surrounding neighborhoods. Parking is available nearby for those arriving by car, and public toilets are located inside the park.
The park connects directly to the Chézine valley and, from there, all the way to the parc de Procé in western Nantes through a continuous green corridor called the coulée verte. This means a visitor can walk from one park to the other without crossing a single road.
