Pont de Jargeau, Road bridge across Loire River in Jargeau, France
Pont de Jargeau is a road bridge made of steel and concrete spanning the Loire River to connect Jargeau and Mardié. The structure was built using prefabricated sections assembled on site to form a continuous crossing.
Planning for the bridge began in the 1990s as part of the departmental bypass route strategy. The project received necessary approvals and construction eventually proceeded in the 2020s.
The construction integrates into the Loire Valley natural region, which holds UNESCO World Heritage status, while connecting local communities across the river.
The bridge provides a direct crossing for vehicles while also accommodating pedestrians and cyclists. Walking or biking across offers views of the Loire and the surrounding landscape.
The structure consists of 48 sections welded on site, with each segment measuring between 9 and 14 meters, creating a total span of 570 meters.
