Château de Saujon

Château de Saujon is a castle featuring three wings with pavilions arranged around a moated perimeter. A square tower was added during the 1800s, and restoration work completed in 2012 brought the building up to current standards.

The site dates back to the 9th century under Charlemagne's rule, with official building authorization granted by King Louis XI in 1475 for nobleman Olivier de Coëtivy. These early phases established the fortress that would later attract prominent owners.
