The Château de la Ferrière stands at mid-slope of a wooded valley, featuring a slate Mansard roof and positioned alongside an active spring.
In 1751, Pierre Reverchon acquired the ruins and initiated construction of a master house, which Jean-Baptiste Audras later transformed into a château in 1856.
The estate reflects the evolution of French architecture from a simple forge to a noble residence, marking the social advancement of merchant families.
The property is accessible via the Méridien tram-train station on the western Lyon line, named Le Mériden - La Ferrière after the historical land donation.
During World War I, the château served as a military hospital with 50 beds, contributing to the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers.
