Institut national du service public, Public service training institute in Strasbourg and Paris, France
Institut national du service public is a higher education institution for training future senior officials and public administrators in France, operating in both Strasbourg and Paris. The institution combines academic teaching with hands-on experience in national and international organizations.
President Emmanuel Macron established the school in January 2022 to renew civil service education in France. It replaced the former École nationale d'administration and sought to move away from its elite reputation.
The name Institut national du service public reflects a shift toward a more open approach to training government leaders compared to its predecessor. Students from different social backgrounds come together here to prepare for leadership roles while learning from one another.
The training program runs for 21 months and combines seminars with internships both in France and abroad. Graduates go on to take senior positions in government administration afterward.
Students follow a coordinated curriculum with 15 different public service schools across France. This network allows regular exchange of knowledge and practice among future leaders in different branches of government.
