Drimiskiano Ammoudi

Drimiskiano Ammoudi is a remote cove on southern Crete that forms part of a series of consecutive bays stretching along the coastline. The beach alternates between sand and pebbles, backed by dark rocky cliffs.

The area maintained its original character over generations as a connection point between local fishing communities and maritime routes. Its isolated position allowed traditional ways of life to persist in the region.

Local fishermen still work this coastline and bring their catches to small tavernas serving regional Cretan dishes. This practice shapes daily life along the coves and connects people to the sea.

The beach is accessible via a maintained footpath from the nearby settlement, with parking available near local tavernas. It is advisable to wear sturdy shoes and bring water and sun protection, as shade is limited along the cove.

Underwater reefs and rock formations create separate swimming areas with varying depths throughout the cove. Snorkelers can discover different marine life across these distinct zones.
