Lauhanvuori National Park, National park in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland.

Lauhanvuori National Park is a forest area with pine woodlands, spring brooks, and wetlands centered around a 231-meter mountain in Western Finland. The terrain features natural rock formations and supports different habitats ranging from the summit to swampy lowlands.

The summit area formed around 9500 years ago when glaciers retreated, creating an island in the ancient Ancylus Lake. This elevated position meant the area never submerged again, allowing continuous habitats to develop over millennia.

The area contains distinctive boulder fields called devil's fields, which are natural rock formations scattered throughout the forest. These features reflect the geological character that shapes how locals and visitors experience the landscape.

The area is accessible through marked hiking trails, including a 500-meter accessible path for easier exploration. In winter, the terrain becomes ideal for cross-country skiing with extensive groomed routes available.

The park hosts the southernmost population of Scottish asphodel in Finland, thriving in the nutrient-rich soils found at the summit. This rare plant flourishes here under conditions that do not exist elsewhere in the country.
