Rokua National Park, National park and UNESCO Global Geopark in Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland.

Rokua National Park is a protected area in Northern Finland featuring inland dunes, kettle hole lakes, and esker ridges shaped by glacial processes. The landscape combines pine forests with glacial features and numerous water bodies creating varied terrain.

The area was established as a protected site in 1956 to preserve Ice Age formations shaped by glaciers and showing the landscape's ancient geological past. These features have defined this region for thousands of years since the glaciers receded.

The park reflects how Finns value both protecting nature and sharing it with visitors through accessible trails and gathering spaces. You can see how people use these landscapes to connect with the land and its geology.

You can enter from multiple access points located in the municipalities of Vaala, Muhos, and Utajärvi, each offering different trail options. Facilities include marked hiking routes, fire sites for gatherings, and places to stay overnight.

Within the park lies Syvyydenkaivo, Finland's deepest kettle hole reaching 50 meters down. This remarkable depression shows the extreme glacial forces that carved out the landscape here.
