Muhos is a municipality in Northern Ostrobothnia that stretches along the Oulujoki River, with open plains on one side and forested hills on the other. The settlement consists of scattered homes and farms that blend into the natural landscape, with a population of around 8,700 people.
Muhos was officially established in 1865 and developed gradually as a settlement along the Oulujoki River. The oldest structure is the wooden church from 1634, recognized as Finland's oldest timber church that remains in regular use.
