Kuokkala Bridge

The Kuokkala Bridge extends 480 meters across Lake Jyväsjärvi, featuring a 90-meter longest span and standing 15 meters above the water surface.

The bridge construction began on October 15, 1987, with teams working simultaneously from both ends until their successful connection on September 12, 1988.

At the Lutakko end of the bridge, the steel sculpture Keinuja by artist Seppo Uuranmäki has been installed since 2002, adding artistic value.

The 15.5-meter-wide structure connects central Jyväskylä through Lutakko to the Kuokkala district, supporting vehicle and pedestrian traffic across the lake.

Upon its 1989 completion, the Kuokkala Bridge held the distinction of being Finland's longest plate girder bridge and fourth longest road bridge.
