Raseborg Castle, Medieval castle in Snappertuna, Finland
The stone fortress stands on a rock formation that was originally surrounded by water, featuring towers and multiple levels of defensive walls.
Built before 1378 by Bo Jonsson, the castle monitored trade routes in the Gulf of Finland and served as an administrative center until 1558.
The castle grounds host summer events including ancient markets, concerts, and theatrical performances in one of Finland's largest outdoor theaters.
Guided tours in Finnish, Swedish, and English are available from June to August, with adult admission costing 8 euros and children 4 euros.
The Slottsknekten restaurant, established in 1893 near the castle ruins, represents one of the first tourist establishments in Finland's history.
