Evo, Forestry education campus in Hämeenlinna, Finland
Evo is a forestry education campus in Hämeenlinna focused on teaching and research in forest and natural resource management. The grounds span approximately 1,800 hectares of observation forest with study areas, classroom buildings, and student housing.
Founded in 1862, the institution ranks among Finland's oldest forestry education centers. Over more than 160 years, it has developed into a leading place for practical forest studies and woodland management.
The name comes from the surrounding forests that define the landscape and its purpose. You will see forestry work happening across the grounds, from nurseries to study areas, where students and professionals work daily.
The campus provides students access to a canteen, sports facilities, gym, and on-site housing. Essential healthcare services are available on the grounds, so all main needs are met within the location.
The campus works closely with the Finnish Natural Resources Institute and contributes to advances in sustainable forest management. These partnerships allow students to participate directly in active research projects.
