Hauho Church, Medieval stone church in Hauho village, Finland.

Hauho Church is a grey stone building from the late medieval period located in the Hämeenlinna area. The structure gained a brick sacristy and bell tower over the centuries, while preserving its original wooden sculptures inside.

The building was constructed in the early 1500s as a stone church during the later medieval period in Finland. Practical additions followed centuries later, reflecting how the structure evolved to meet the needs of its community.

The wooden sculptures of St. Peter and St. Anna inside show how worshippers expressed their faith through sacred art. These carved figures remain part of how visitors experience the spiritual tradition of the place.

The building remains an active church and welcomes visitors during daylight hours to view its medieval features. Try to visit when there is natural light so you can see the interior details and sculptures clearly.

The bells that originally hung here were moved to another location in 1885, changing the acoustic character of the space. This relocation reflects how even parts of a church's identity can shift with the times.
