Hanko Water Tower, Water tower in Hanko, Finland.
The water tower reaches a height of 48 meters and stands 65 meters above sea level, offering views across the Baltic Sea and Hanko cape.
Architect Bertel Liljequist designed this municipal water tower, which was completed in 1943 during the final years of World War II.
The water tower became a central element in 1950s travel posters that promoted Hanko as a destination for tennis and leisure activities.
Visitors can access the observation deck using an elevator for 5 euros per person, while children under 12 enter without charge.
The structure combines practical water supply functions with a public viewing platform that presents a complete view of the Finnish coastline.
