Hanko Water Tower

Hanko Water Tower is a 48-meter-tall structure rising from a promontory 65 meters above sea level. The building serves both a water supply function and provides a public observation platform.

Architect Bertel Liljequist designed this water tower, which was completed in 1943 during the final months of World War II. The project emerged as part of the town's infrastructure development during a period of significant change.

The tower has shaped the town's skyline for generations and serves as a landmark for visitors approaching Hanko from the sea. Its form is closely tied to the area's development as a leisure destination.
