Caves of Jeremias

The Caves of Jeremias are natural rock formations with vertical cliffs featuring deep cracks and grooves that create multiple chambers within the stone. These formations run along the shoreline and display the geological structure of the Finnish coast.

During the 18th century, when Finland was part of the Kingdom of Sweden, a local man named Jeremias deliberately misdirected English naval vessels in the area. His name remains connected to these caves as a reminder of that era.
