Rabac

Rabac is a coastal settlement along the Adriatic shore in northern Croatia, featuring white pebble beaches and sheltered coves. The town spreads along a series of inlets backed by rocky hillsides and vegetation.

The area developed as a major coal mining region, shaping the economy and community for generations. When mining declined after the 20th century, the settlement gradually transformed into a coastal destination.

The settlement carries the memory of its mining past into its present community life. Today, locals gather at the waterfront and participate in maritime traditions that connect them to generations before.

The settlement is easily reached by road from the nearby town of Labin and is best explored on foot along the waterfront. Various establishments offer refreshments and lodging right on the shore, while hiking trails climb into the hills behind.

The location sits between low coastal mountains that drop toward the sea, creating walking routes with water views on both sides. This arrangement lets visitors move between mountain and seaside experiences within a short distance.
