Krka Bridge, Concrete deck arch bridge near Skradin, Croatia.
Krka Bridge is a concrete deck arch bridge that spans the river with a height of about 66 meters above the water surface. The structure measures roughly 391 meters in length and was constructed entirely from reinforced concrete.
Construction began in June 2004 and finished in September 2005, creating a new link across the river. This project strengthened transportation connections throughout Croatia and improved access to the Dalmatian coast and interior regions.
The bridge serves as the main crossing for travelers heading to the Dalmatian coast and national parks in the region. Locals and visitors alike depend on it daily to reach destinations deeper into Croatia's interior and southern areas.
The bridge carries heavy traffic on the A1 motorway, with peak volumes during summer when tourism to the region increases. Traveling early in the morning or late in the evening helps avoid the busiest periods.
The structure required around 11,800 cubic meters of concrete and 2,300 tons of reinforcement steel to complete. This substantial amount of material demonstrates the engineering effort needed to create such a large span over the river.
