Beach Banj, Šibenik

Beach Banj is a public sandy and pebbly shore in Šibenik's center where Adriatic waters attract swimmers and sunbathers. The location includes changing facilities, showers, and sports courts, with bars offering drinks and snacks nearby.

The beach underwent significant renovation in 2012 as part of Šibenik's project to develop modern recreational spaces. This work was intended to revitalize the waterfront along the historic Adriatic coastline.

The beach becomes a gathering place during summer evenings, hosting outdoor cinema, live performances, and local community events. This happens right next to Saint James Cathedral, making it a social hub for residents.

The beach is conveniently located near the old town and easy to navigate from the city center. Swimming conditions are best in summer months, though the water is accessible most of the year for those willing to brave cooler temperatures.

The beach frames a direct view of the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of Saint James, which looks particularly striking from the water. Fresh water from the nearby Krka river flows into the sea here, creating its own water character.
