Srima, Coastal settlement in Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia.
Srima is a coastal settlement along the Adriatic in Croatia with pebble beaches, homes, and holiday accommodations spread across the waterfront. The area provides direct access to the sea and sits near the busy town of Vodice with its shops and restaurants.
During the Middle Ages, residents fled Turkish raids by relocating to nearby Prvić island, where they founded Šepurine before returning to the coast in later centuries. This period of movement shaped how the community developed over time.
The archaeological site of Srimska lokva reveals a 6th-century Christian basilica where early residents practiced their faith along the coast. Preserved objects found there offer insight into the religious life of these ancient communities.
The settlement has numerous private rental apartments close to the beaches with easy water access and good links to shops and cafes in nearby Vodice. Summer months offer the warmest conditions and busier activity, while quieter periods occur during spring and fall.
Inside the local church stands a late 12th-century fresco showing the artist's unusual self-portrait as a plowman standing beside Saint George. This rare image connects the artist's daily work with the religious subjects painted on the wall.
