Marina Punat, marina in Croatia
Marina Punat is a port facility on the southern side of the island of Krk sheltered within a protected bay. It offers berths for about 850 boats with modern utilities including electricity, water, and waste disposal, and also features dry storage for hundreds of additional vessels.
Marina Punat is the oldest marina on the eastern Adriatic coast and was established in 1964. It has grown over the decades into one of Croatia's key port facilities and has received multiple awards for its quality and safety standards.
The name Punat refers to the sheltered bay that has drawn fishermen and sailors for centuries. Today the town serves as a gathering place where boat owners from various countries meet and carry on maritime traditions together.
The marina is open year-round and easy to reach, located only about 25 kilometers from Rijeka Airport. Access is through a narrow channel called Usta, which can be challenging during strong Bora or Jugo winds, so boat operators should monitor weather conditions.
Marina Punat has flown the Blue Flag since 1998, a certification for clean water and environmental practices. Every year in May, residents and volunteers gather to clean the seabed and beaches of the bay, collecting trash to protect the marine environment.
